dear Lauren,
I hope you had a good week of travel.
I am writing to send a few updates on the ongoing task list, which I will just draw out below with annotations.
1. Teresa intro.
I saw Teresa pop up on the google doc while I was working on my text a couple times last week. I wrote to her to say I was nervous about her response to it, in case she hates it, but I haven't yet heard back from her. I think she is working on her intro (I hope!).
2. Your intro. (no updates, no problem)
3. My text.
I worked a lot more of the quotes into it, and also added a bit more on artist-run centre history. It is long long long now. I don't know what to do about that. I am almost done reworking it, and will be ready for the "early october" deadline...
4. Marina's text.
images / formatting -- tbc
5. Mariane's text.
same. clear.
6. Dana's text.
any updates here? what was the deadline we had for her / how hands off should we be? I have a feeling she was also reading my google doc a couple of weeks ago (anonymous ibis).
7. █████████'s text.
I spoke with █████████ last week. He was very enthusiastic about the project. I feel confident that his text will contextualize the work within institutional critique, and I think now that he is in, █████████████ █████ ██ █████ ███ ██ ████ ███ ██ ████ ███ ██ ████ ██ █████ ██ █████ ███████ ████ ████ ██ ██████ ███ ████████████████ ███████ ████ ██████ ████████ ███ ██ ███ ██ ████ █████████
8. proof-reading / copy-editing
any updated thoughts? do we need to bring someone else in to read before Dana?
9. images / citations
would it make sense to go through Marina's text together the next time we meet to propose images? I think it might be an effective way to do this task.
10. email archive.
I am grinding away at it. It's still not entirely at a stage where I can bring someone else in, and may just need to be done by me entirely.

Ok. I don't know if it is necessary that we meet until we receive more material, but I just wanted to put the list out so that we don't overlook anything... is there anything I did miss??

thanks so much as always!
x

Hi Josh!

Thanks for this. I am hoping to get back on this track tomorrow, so more from me then.

In the meantime, it turns out that I will be in Montreal November 7-14. I don’t suppose you will be around? Maybe it would be a good idea for me to meet Farah - even just for a coffee to say hello?

X L

I chased her. She need to at least respond to one of us.

Cool

Wonderful! Give me a heads up when it is ready and I will dive in.

Now that we have the citations from Mariane, I am going to use that to format Marina’s text and re-send to her with image suggestions (see below).

Cool. I will review it and get back to her asap.

I chased her.

This is such good news! It will be no problem to edit his text into shape - █ ████ █ ███ ██ ██████████ ███████ ██████ ██████ ███████ ██ ███████.

Yes, I do think it would be good to bring in someone before Dana. Let me ask around and get back to you.

Sure! I have set arise time next week to get Marina’s text into shape and think of images, so I will let you know once I’m ready for that meeting.

Thats good to hear. No rush on bringing someone else in if you feel you are the best person for the job.

I’ve cc-ed you on some image followups. Typically, I have not heard back from the NGC. I’ll try to call them at some point.
