The Employee by joshua schwebel
About this project

publication request and follow up

Josh Schwebel <privatejosh@gmail.com> To: Francoislemieux <█████████████████████████████>

Dear Francois,
I hope your opening went well, and that you are managing through the long weekend.
I am writing for two reasons. First, I wanted to follow up on our plans to meet up. I am curious about your experience at KB, and am feeling somewhat isolated these days. It would be a very healthy and good time for me to see people!
Second, I am currently in the process of archiving outcomes of The Employee project, and am writing to ask your permission to reproduce the emails we exchanged about the project, which I hope to include in the project documentation. This material will be published online.
The reason for this request is that the project as a whole became about making overwork and burnout within the arts visible. These issues are not clearly articulated in single events, but accumulate over small increments.
My intention is to publish the archive of the project as completely as possible, as a way to show the quantity of work involved in the project, and also the intersection of work with personal life, which was more prevalent  than ever during the pandemic.
Our conversation comprises a tiny fragment of this mountain of correspondence.
I have attached the exact documents I wish to reproduce to this email. I do not intend to publish anything other than what is included below. Please read these over and let me know if you would consent to allow me to use these documents. If you do not consent, or want anything else removed, please let me know as well. I want to respect your wishes. I would greatly appreciate it if I could hear back from you by next week, and will keep in touch to let you know when the project is published.
warm wishes,
Joshua Schwebel

Dear Josh,
Sure lets walk and grab some food or a drink somewhere. I could use the company too. I might not have told you but a few things have changed around here. █████ ███ █ ████ ██████ ████ █████ ██ ██ ███ █████ █████████████ █████ █ ██ ████████ ███ ███ ██ ███ ██ █████████ █ ███ ███████ ████ ███ ███████ ███████████ ███ █████ ███████ █ ███████ ██ █████ █████ ████ ██ ██████████ ███ █████████ ████ █████ ██ ██████████ ████████ ██ ███ ████████ ██ ████ ████ ████ ██ ██████ █████ ███████████
Would you be available Saturday?

As for the publication, sure! You can publish the email no problem. I am glad the project is finding a new form!

Let me know.
