Hi Josh and Lauren,

Hope you're both doing well!

I had this idea for the structure of the text to use the questions from the CCA to separate all the ideas I want to address. I thought if could be fun but I hope it's not too confusing (maybe some confusion is okay? Maybe it's a bit more like creative writing than a formal essay?)

Here's the outline I put together: https://docs.google.com/document/#redacted
Feel free to add comments / suggestions if you want.

Let me know what you think, I'm excited to get started!

Thanks 🙂
Camille

Dear Camille,
This is hilarious and brilliant!
I love this idea, and you should definitely go for it :)
Thank you for thinking of this.

Hi Camille,

What an inspired idea!

I really love how you have interpreted the questions towards The Employee as an artistic project, but also towards your own experience within the work, you observations about the CCA, and your own practice as an artist.

One question: what grants are you taking these questions from? If is it a selection of questions from different grant applications, it might be interesting to note which grant the questions is associate with (perhaps in a footnote). This could act as further consideration and subversion of the CCA formats.

Very excited to read more!

Lauren

Hi Lauren,
From my understanding, these are the questions that are asked when one is applying for a CCA grant, so these are copied directly from the cca’s online application form. This makes a lot of sense, and is clever and funny as a transference from the tasks of the job (filling out these forms) and a report on the job :)

Hi both,

I'm so glad you're into this idea!

Lauren - as Josh mentionned, these are questions I took from the Research and Creation / Concept to Realization grants (i believe most questions are the same for these two categories, but I can double-check). It's a good point to think of including where they came from, I might also look at some other grants (for organizations for example) to see if their questions are even better!

Thanks and talk soon 🙂

Best,
Camille
