Dear Michelle,
How are things? I wonder if the climate apocalypse has also hit Montreal? I have heard that it’s smoky in Toronto and Sackville, so I imagine it must be bad there too. It feels very intense to be witnessing it from far away, and also hard to gauge how bad it is.
On a much less dire note, I wanted to check in on your text. How is it progressing? Do you feel like you will have a draft ready by the middle of the month / June 15?
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help or support you.

Hey Josh and Lauren.
Sorry for the slow reply. I am swamped and moving around the province, which has made not urgent communications slow.

Montreal was relatively unaffected by the fires, but the winds really hit the Ottawa/ Gatineau region (where I am now) bad. The air was literally toxic this past week, and they were telling people to stay inside and to wear N95 masks when going outside. Luckily, a bout of rain and a change in wind direction meant that things have cleared up a LOT since Wednesday. That being said, it's still very worrisome and likely a sign of worse to come in terms of climate. Yet, look at us all still just going to work and pretending everything is fine.

Ill admit that I am progressing slowly, but moving and 100% swimming in these themes. Will aim to send you a more advanced text, if not a final one, by the end of next week.
Thanks for your patience,
Michelle

Thanks Michelle,
Totally fine. I just wanted to get a sense of where you’re at.
I am so excited to see the text.
