I hope your summer is going well.
A few months ago, Lauren Wetmore reached out to you with a publication request regarding my project, The Employee. While we regret that the conditions we offered were inadequate, I have to say how much I respect your approach to our request.
I am writing to you now on a related note to request your consent to reproduce the emails exchanged relevant to the project, which I have attached below. The initial project looked at the conditions of cultural work, which revealed the submerged iceberg of administrative work that undergirds artistic production. By archiving and reproducing the emails comprising the project, my intention is to make the work's process visible. Your correspondence was a single thread in a massive archive, but it is nonetheless part of my artistic intent for this archive to be as complete as possible. It is also important that I have every correspondent's consent in order to move ahead with this, which is why I am writing to you now.
To be clear, these emails will accompany the printed publication as an online website recording all of the emails comprising the project.
