Dear Lauren,
I hope your trip is going well, or perhaps is already past? Were you able to meet with Farah? I can’t remember the dates that you were planning to be away, so I hope I’m not interrupting you mid-travel or in the throes of jetlag.
I just wanted to check in on a couple things, since we haven’t touched base in what feels like a couple of weeks.
First, I need to respond to █████████ , who wrote asking for an extension. I kind of expected this, and I will just write to say it’s ok, I just wanted to communicate with you about it too. I think the biggest consequence is that it will postpone your ability to write your introduction, but we are still making progress!
Second, I wanted to thank you for your comments on the text. I have been reworking the first part to respond to your comments, and I think it’s getting much better. I am starting to like the first part. I have left the second part alone until you work through your round of edits to avoid doubling your work.
So far as I can tell, that’s all the news I can think of for now. If there is anything else outstanding, let me know.
