The Employee publication update

Josh Schwebel <privatejosh@gmail.com> To: Farah Khan <█████████████████████ >, Lauren Wetmore <████████████████████████████████ >

dearest Farah,
How are you? I hope you are well!
I am writing to give you some long awaited updates about The Employee publication.
To start with, I have the great fortune of working with Lauren Wetmore as the publication editor. Working with Lauren is a dream. She is the best co-conspirator and has helped enormously in continuing the uphill push of putting this publication together.
The last time I wrote to you, I had needed to put the production on hold because I didn't have any more money, but in the intervening time, my vision for what it will contain has only expanded. I have, however, gone through the steps with the funding council to close the previous grant, and have submitted a separate application to fund the publication. I am hopeful about the outcomes of this, and am in a much better financial state that I was a few months ago.
So, I wanted to ask about your availability in the coming months. I don't think it makes sense to proceed with graphic design decisions until I know the funding application outcome (likely to be determined by the end of August at the latest), but I also intend to publish something regardless of whether or not I get the additional money.
Given that I won't know the final budget until end of August, does it make sense to pre-meet to discuss possible plans A and B for the publication sooner than later? or would it be better to hold off until we know how much money we have to work with? I just don't want to either waste your time or jump in suddenly with the expectation that you and your team will be free without advance warning or planning.
I don't have a fixed deadline for printing or production yet, but would be excited if the volume could exist in the world by the new year at the latest.
warmest hugs,
Josh

Hi Josh! Hi Lauren!

Josh, as always, hearing from you is the best part of my day! ❤️💞💜💙 I'm so excited about this news and can't wait to get going, whatever the grant outcome is! Fingers crossed though so we can dream and create BIG!

Lauren, I'm so happy you're on board! Collaborating with Josh is one of my favourite things and I know you must feel the same way :)

Meeting: let's meet in late July. I have some vacation coming up so my calendar for the next 2 weeks is jammed a la max. Then, Louis is off when I return, so latish July is ideal. Does whatever work for you two?
