Hi there - I hope the opening went well!

Just a little update to say that I send an exploratory message to Anna over fb, but it has not been read, so I think that I am going to contact her university in Marseille to get an email address.

For the meeting with Mariane - I can do next week on Wednesday, but I feel like we might want to wait until the week after to be able to come to her with fulsome notes. Let me know and I can reply for both of us.

Hey Lauren,
Yes the opening was fine. I am just pretty tired and confused as I return to remembering what everything was that got suspended outside of the focus tunnel of the exhibit.
But, thank you for trying to reach out to Anna. I think that the University should be the most reliable form of contact. Fingers crossed!
As for the meeting with Mariane, I feel like I confused things. I offered the meeting in case she was struggling with our previous edits or couldn’t find a satisfactory ending to her paper. I had been worried since we hadn’t heard back from her that she might have lost confidence, so the offer of the meeting was more to help at that stage, and I am not sure that it is actually necessary for a meeting anymore. Do you?
I am happy to write back and ask if she wants to have a more social check in, but I feel that we don’t need to rush the edits or have spoken feedback ready.
I will write back to Mariane, offering to disambiguate these two situations.

As for a meeting between you and I, I am open to that, but would probably just use it as a social time to chat and catch up, since I don’t feel that it is entirely necessary for the purpose of the publication. I have not had time to make much in the way of progress. I will most likely work on Mariane’s text tomorrow as I take the train from Ottawa to Toronto. But I don’t feel that we need to rip through the edits too quickly.

Hi dear Josh,

Don’t feel pressure from my side. The time after opening an exhibition is very vulnerable and you need to protect yourself within it.

I agree that we don’t need to jump on anything immediately. I will work on Mariane’s edits and continue to track Anna down. We can connect when you feel ready.

Your email to Mariane was perfect - setting her expectations about the timeline of our process.

Safe travels,
Lauren
