The Canada Council for the Arts is delighted to announce the winners of the 2023 Musical Instrument Bank competition.

Following auditions held in Toronto from July 30 to August 5, 21 classical musicians have been selected to borrow an instrument from the Canada Council Musical Instrument Bank.

During the next three years, these talented young musicians will have the privilege of playing some of the world’s most legendary violins, cellos and bows, for audiences in Canada and beyond.

To find out more about audition week, get to know the winners and learn about the instruments they selected, read the feature article and visit the Musical Instrument Bank website.

Use the hashtag #InstrumentBank to follow and share news on social media.

The Canada Council would like to thank the many donors who have generously contributed to this unique bank of musical instruments through their loans, gifts and bequests.

The Canada Council for the Arts contributes to the vibrancy of a creative and diverse arts and literary scene and supports its presence across Canada and around the world. The Council is Canada’s public arts funder.
