Hello from somewhere over the Atlantic. I’m coming in with some major "Adult Gold Stars”.
I’m joyfully going over your excellent text, Michelle. I’ve been doing a lot of editing on this flight and I have to say it is such a relief to dive into a text that knows itself and articulates so clearly. Your voice, structure, and analysis are all in such an excellent place, that I can just noodle around with a few suggestions. Amazing!
Because I know that all the google doc edits and notes are going to drop as soon as I come back online, I wanted to send a quick note of context around my intervention into the text. Mostly I have suggested some line edits to help with flow and some suggestions to help with clarity.
There are also a few moments where I am not totally understanding something. In these instances I ask questions, which I do not intend as critique but rather as a request for more information that can hopefully help us be totally clear to the reader. Honestly, if the text wasn’t so good already I wouldn’t be asking question of it. Its because I want to know your answer, which is such a nice feeling to have as an editor.
As an overall note, I feel like this will be one of the richest contributions in the book.
