I'm writing in the hopes that we can move your essay forward to the editorial process in the coming two weeks.
Before I can begin line editing, then pass it on to our copy editor, I will need to receive a resolved draft of the essay that engages with our feedback.
Our main concern is that there is not an adequate discussion of The Employee as an artwork to meaningfully connect with your art historical examples, which is also resulting in some mis-readings of the project.
Josh has given thorough feedback and suggestions within the google doc, which will give you more details onto our suggestions. Additionally, I have attached a line-edit and fact-check of the first page of the text.
Including your essay in the book remains a priority for me and Josh, and we are excited by the promise of a rigorous analysis shown in your first draft. We both remain available to you for phone or zoom calls, if that is helpful.
I will need to move your text into the editorial stage two weeks from now, and so would be grateful to receive the next draft by 5 June.
