hi Camille,
I hope you have had an amazing August!
I just wanted to check in on your progress with your text. How is it coming along? Do you have any sense of when you will have a draft ready? If you have any questions or need support in any way, please do reach out. I know that writing is slow and HARD, omg so many small decisions! but do know that you have our support.
I am very excited to see what you have to say.
warmly,
Josh

Hi Josh,

Thanks so much for checking in!
I have made some progress on the writing but we also had to pack and move across provinces over the past two weeks which took much more of my time than anticipated… long story short Louis-Charles got more teaching work at Concordia and we are back in Québec 🙂
I am planning on finishing the draft over the long weekend and will be in touch early next week with a first version to get your feedback.

I apologize for the delay and thanks for understanding.

Talk soon!
Camille

Hi Camille,
That’s totally understandable. I remember that we had talked about the possibility of you guys moving back to Quebec when we saw each other in the spring, but I didn’t realize that was for real for real, or the timing of that. !!!
Good luck and talk soon!

Hi Josh and Lauren,

I hope you're both doing well!

Feel free to add comments and suggestions (very much appreciated!)

Right now my only question is if I should add a conclusion (last question from CCA that I highlighted at the end) if you think this ends too abruptly? Or maybe 1-2 sentences at the end of the last paragraph to wrap things up?
I'm also available if you'd like to meet on Zoom to discuss (if it's easier / you think it's necessary). Otherwise let me know when you are done and I can have a second round of re-working the writing / editing.

Thanks so much and talk soon! 🙂

Best,
Camille

Hi Camille,

Thank you so much for this draft! Josh is going to get back to you more fully shortly, but as I spent some time with it today (and you have no doubt received a million notifications) I wanted to send a quick note to say how impressed I am by the text and how necessary it feels for the book.

Keep in mind that my edits are all suggestions and I am very open to talking anything through.

Warmly,
Lauren

Hi Lauren,

Thank you so much for all the edits and for your message!
I was anxious to share my writing since the tone/style is so different but I feel like it complements what has already been written.
I'll wait to hear back from Josh and then will start looking more closely at the suggestions to edit the text.

I'm curious to know what would be the deadline to send you a finished version?

Thanks so much and talk soon 🙂
Camille

Dear Camille,
Sorry for taking a bit of time to get back to you— blame jetlag! Thank you SO much for this text. It is excellent and gives so much to the overall publication. I am really glad to be able to include it.
Since Lauren has already worked through the text with in-line corrections and comments, I only had one comment in addition to those Lauren has put into the text. I added it into the text, but please know that my feelings about the text are entirely positive.
So, as far as both Lauren and I are concerned, your text is quite near to being complete. Nothing jumps out structurally or requires significant re-working.
Given that most of what remains is minor, do you think it would be possible to work through the suggestions and comments by Sept. 20? Do let me know if you have any questions, if you need clarification, or anything else.

Thank you again,
Josh

Hi Josh,

Hope you’re getting some rest after your travels, and I’m excited to hear about your residency!
Thanks so much for your message and words of encouragement. I’m so glad you feel positively about the text!
September 20 is a good date to send you both a finished version, as it gives me enough time to look over all the suggestions.

Thanks again and talk soon! 🙂

Best,
Camille
