Question EAF Youth Innovation Component

The Employee <employee@forestcitygallery.com> To: EDSC.JEUNESSEFA-YOUTHEAF.ESDC-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca

Hello,

I am writing regarding the EAF Youth Innovation Component.
I was wondering if there is a grant that we can apply for as a Youth Accessibility Leader or if it's only the Enabling Accessibility Fund that we can apply for?

Are there any other funds to increase accessibility that the Youth Accessibility Leader would be eligible for?

Thank you for letting me know!

Best,

Camille-Zoé Valcourt-Synnott (she/her) — Fundraiser/Grantwriter

Good day,

Thank you for your interest in the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) call for proposals for the youth innovation component.

Please note, that the role of the  Youth Accessibility Leader is unique to the Enabling Accessibility Fund – Youth Innovation Component. The youth innovation component encourages youth to find accessibility barriers in their communities and to then work with  local organizations to improve accessibility and safety in community spaces and workplaces. Grant funding can be up to $10,000 per project. This process is two-fold. First, interested youth can apply to become Youth Accessibility Leaders (YAL) by completing the online form before October 29, 2021. The application will then be assessed and, if successful, youth are identified as YALs (Youth Accessibility Leaders). Following this, the YALs receive a toolkit with some guidance on how to approach an organization(s) and are responsible for providing the Applicant Guide and the application form to the organization(s) who are interested in applying for funding.

EAF provides two other streams;  small projects component and mid-Size component, of which both are currently closed at this time, as future parameters and Call for Proposals timelines have not yet been determined. You can consult the Enabling Accessibility Funds webpage for more information on these funding streams.

For more information about other funding opportunities available from the ESDC , we encourage you to check out the ESDC Funding page on a regular basis.

Sincerely,
