Its great news that she is considering contributing!!!!!
She is requesting more-or-less CARFAC minimum for her writing here ($1/word). So, I am not inclined to dispute her rate.
The tricky thing is that we would need to accept the lower word count, or else pay her a larger fee for a longer text than the other writers. I’m not inclined towards different fees for the writers.
My feeling is that a 600-800 word text from eunice would be a huge boon to the book and that we should meet her stipulations.
The other option is that we can scale the other fees to match eunice’s fee, then ask her to write a longer text at the rate she has stipulated. But, I get the feeling she is more inclined to write a shorter text and I don’t know if your budget can manage upping all the contributor’s fees.
