Re: Checking in on Josh's catalogue

Hi Dana,

Happy new year to you too!

It is true that the timeline has expanded slightly. One of the contributors requested an extended deadline and with the extra time we decided to add another contributor. The book is turning into a really rich reader! But, it feels great to have your text, along with Marianne and Marina’s, in final draft stage. I will be getting back to you with any final notes shortly, though I think that everything was really well attended to in our last exchange. I’m also going to start tackling image again this month.

Regarding proofreading, I can hopefully give you a better idea this month of when the PDF would come to you for review. My apologies for the spongy timeline – we totally understand if you aren’t able to hold time for the job given the lack of specificity.

Regarding your fee for the text, you will definitely be paid separately to the proofreading! Looking back on our correspondence, I realise that we haven’t prompted you to invoice yet, but please do!

I’ve cc-ed Josh, who may have specifics about how to invoice and can answer any question on that front. Let us know if there is anything else that needs seeing to.

Wishing you everything good 2023,

Lauren

Hi Lauren,

Happy new year! I hope your 2023 is off to a good start. I just wanted to check in about the timeline for proofreading Josh's catalogue—it seems like things have been pushed back a bit, which is totally fine, I just want to plan accordingly. Also, will I be paid for my essay separately or together with my proofreading fee once that happens?

Warmly,
Dana

Hi Lauren,

That's exciting! And should still be fine for me to proofread, just let me know when you have a better sense of the schedule.

Josh, I'll let you let me know how to address the invoice for my text.

Warmly,
Dana

Hi Dana,
Sorry for not jumping in yesterday, but my dog had surgery (the lumps were not cancerous :) !) but it was still overwhelming to handle her post anaesthetic, and it pretty much wiped out my day.
Anyway, as Lauren wrote, the schedule is a bit “spongy”, but things are progressing nonetheless.
As for your invoice, I am so sorry I forgot to prompt you on that, it was an oversight on my part, sort of one of those back of the mind things where I was a bit illogically assuming you would initiate the conversation, and then it got forgotten in that waiting status… again, apologies. Please address the invoice for $600 CAD to me at ████ ██ █████████████, █████████ ███████ ███ ███
I can pay you in the equivalent in USD, via Wise or Paypal, if that works for you.
Thanks again, and until soon,
Josh

Hi Josh,

No worries, so glad your dog's surgery went well! That must have been so scary. And I totally should have asked you about the invoice sooner, just lost track of it with school and the strike. It's attached here, and Paypal (this email address) works great.

Warmly,
Dana

hi Dana,
thanks for understanding. It's been a sleepless week, what with the cone-banging.
But the stitches will come out soon!
I just sent the payment, so hopefully it should go through / have already gone through.
Lauren will likely be in touch about further details, otherwise we will update you on proofreading as the project progresses.
warmest regards,
Josh
