dear Kate,
I hope this email finds you well!
I am currently in the process of archiving outcomes of The Employee project. I am writing to ask your permission to reproduce the emails we exchanged about the project, which I hope to include in the project documentation. This material will be published online.
I will be publishing an archive of the email correspondence generated by the project as completely as possible as a way to show the quantity of work involved in the project, and also the intersection of work with personal life, which was more prevalent  than ever during the pandemic.
Our conversation comprises a tiny fragment of this mountain of correspondence.
I have attached the exact documents I wish to reproduce to this email. I do not intend to publish anything other than what is included below. Please read these over and let me know if you would consent to allow me to use these documents. If you do not consent, or want anything else removed, please let me know as well. I want to respect your wishes. I would greatly appreciate it if I could hear back from you by next week, and will keep in touch to let you know when the project is published.
warm wishes,
Joshua Schwebel

dear Kate,
I am sorry to read that you will be stepping down from C magazine, but I look forward to what you pursue next!
I am sure this is a busy and emotionally charged time for you. I don't want to add on to your plate, but if you have a second to see my previous email, I am writing to ask for your consent to the inclusion of the above email in the online email archive of my project.
my best,
Josh

Apologies for the delay. It’s a busy time for sure ;)

Is it just that little tidbit where I say how I hope I don’t miss the event etc  (which sounds a bit odd doesn’t if. Like an admission of sorts that online events escape me!)
You can publish it, yes.

Haha yes, that’s all it is. But I am compelled to follow the protocol of the publication and in order to reproduce the archive in full, I need to ask about tiny email trails such as this one.
Thanks so much for your consent, and I hope you will keep in touch!
Warmly,
Josh
