dear Jonathan and Blair,

As you may recall from our last meeting, I am currently in the process of archiving outcomes of The Employee project. I am writing to ask your permission to reproduce the emails we exchanged about the project, which I hope to include in the project documentation. This material will be published online.

I will publish the email correspondence generated by the project as completely as possible as a way to show the quantity of work involved in the project, and also the intersection of work with personal life, which was more prevalent than ever during the pandemic.

Our conversation comprises a tiny fragment of this mountain of correspondence.

I have attached the exact documents I wish to reproduce to this email. I do not intend to publish anything other than what is included below. Please read these over and let me know if you would consent to allow me to use these documents. If you do not consent, or want anything else removed, please let me know as well. I want to respect your wishes. I would greatly appreciate it if I could hear back from you by next week, and will keep in touch to let you know when the project is published.

Hi Josh,

Yes, any updates on the timeline are good to have — mainly to keep our staff handling different aspects of distribution up to speed. We have just published our first print distribution catalogue in over a decade and hope to keep up the momentum we have in that area.

hi Jonathan,

that is really great! congratulations. I only know about these technical aspects of publishing and distribution from reading about Seth Siegelaub and Ben Kinmont, but it sounds really exciting.

On our end, we are probably looking to have the publication in hand (and online) early 2023, likely around March.

At the moment we have all but one essay, and we are on track to hand the complete draft and email archive over to the graphic designers at the end of the year. From that point, it will be a matter of waiting for them to send us layouts and proofs. Their director calculated March, so we will see, but that is the plan.

I will update you around the end of the year when we have the draft, and could even send it to you if you wanted to look it over.

Also, do let me know if you want to verify the proofs.
