Dear Josh,

Thanks for these warm wishes!! Yes, while the results are ███ ████, the implications are yet unclear - guess will learn more at Friday's appointment, but there is a likelihood of further investigation and ██ █████████ █████ █████ ██████████ ██ █████ ██ ██ █████ ████. In any case, I will be applying for a couple of jobs in Europe this month, because low stress, decent healthcare and continued employment at Goldsmiths (or life in the UK) increasingly seem less compatible as propositions.

That's interesting to hear about the development of the publication over this period, and people dropping out by default, the kind of 'soft-collapse, silent expressions' you describe. It's sobering to think of what levels of anxiety and simply inability to account for one's inabilities people must be trying to negotiate to drop out like this, and it makes me feel my situation is relatively luxurious - or just relatively ordinary - if I stay in contact and adhere however errantly to deadlines, albeit with the significant delays which I think have also happened from my side. Your patience and nuanced acknowledgement of how systemic these 'lapses' are is something I both appreciate personally but also find inspiring politically.

Regarding the emails, I am not sure I can go through every single one - admire your scope! - but will just say that anywhere we, or rather I, am getting into the weeds of ████ ████ ████ ██ ██████ █████████ █ ██ ███████ ████ ██ maybe passages that can be 'blurred out', so to speak, as am still dealing with an indecisiveness about how open I want to be █████ ██ ██████, or, rather, it remains a situation-specific case for now, which means I am not sure how I feel about the information generally circulating. Obviously I am committed to higher-than-average levels of boundary-defense as a non-social media user, so this might be an outgrowth of that reflex too....Hope that all makes sense.

And let's plan to meet a bit later in the month, when am feeling more in the picture about everything.

very best,

Marina

dear Marina,
thank you so much for your generous consent. I can extract the specific non-public information from the emails without too much trouble, and without needing too much back and forth with you. Once I have done this, I will send you a final package containing two folders: one will contain all the messages we have exchanged that will be made public (keep in mind that the public for this will be likely symbolic) and I will send a separate folder limited to those messages with sensitive that I have redacted. That will save you the time of reading through everything, and will allow you to check things over to insure that they are adequate to your (completely reasonable) request.
I am very grateful that you can see the sense of why I am working with this material.
As always, it has been lovely working with you. Although the process has been much longer than expected, I think it has been very much worth the extra time, since the form feels adequate, which is important to me.
re: social planning, I will be in Berlin until the 17 of August before I go to Canada. If we are unable to find a time to connect before then we can look towards when I will be back mid-September.
I hope you find a cushy EU job with amazing benefits so that you don't have to deal with the inhuman bureaucracy at Goldsmiths or the UK any further. And it would be nice if you lived closer, so that we could defer plans to socialize in a less constrained fashion (no irony here at all!). Also, hoping very sincerely for ████████████ ███████ ███████████.
warmest greetings (it's going to roast us alive again today),
Josh

Dear Josh,

That sounds like a good configuration, a lot of work for you - yes, totally happy to pick up on my part of that task with the nominated passages.

Before the 17th sounds very do-able, but should refrain from making any plans until ████ ████████ ████ ███ ███████ █████ ████ ██ ███████ ████████████████ ████████ ████ ██████ I'm confident that we can realise a dinner plan though, just more a matter of which day exactly.

Thanks for the good application wishes! I need to hunker down and get them done, as I am very prone to behaving as if these things will write themselves until the last minute has started elapsing.

Hope the roasting is, at least for this week, definitely shifted to mild and temperate after this soggy evening.

all my best,

Marina

dear Marina,
█ ████ ████ ███████ ████ ███████ ██ ███ ███ ██ ███ ████ ███ ██████ ███ ████████ ███████████ I am very easy-going for a social meeting, and also very much ok if it isn't within your capacity.
If you feel like joining me in my end of the woods (literally the woods where I live), I would be happy to host you and your partner for dinner any time next week or the week after, whatever works best for you. Let me know if you have any food or drink restrictions, and if it feels like too much, like I said, no problem.
warmly,
Josh

Dear Josh,

Shall we do not this coming week, but the week after? If it involves a walk through some woods, that's an added incentive.

█ ███ ███ ██████ █████ ███ █████ ████ ███ ██ ███ █ ███████ █████ ██ █████ ████ ███ ████ █████ ██████ ████ █████████ ██ █ ██████ ██ █████ ██ ████ █████ ███ ███ ██████ ███ ████████ █████████ ████████ ███ ██████ ████████ ██ █ ██████ ███████ ██ ███ ████ █████ █████ █████ █ ████ █████ ████ ██████████ ███ ██████ ████

Food and drink restrictions - no meat, wheat or sugar. That's about it. looking forward!

all my best,

Marina

Dear Marina,
█████ ████ ██████ █ ██ ██████ ███ ██ █████ ████ █████ ████ ██████████ ██ █ █████ ███.
Next week sounds good for me. I am free any day other than wednesday (august 9) at this point. When is best for you? I live ██ ███████ ████ ██ ███ ███████████, so a walk in the woods is the big selling point for this location. Maybe we could meet in the afternoon, around 4:30 or so, and go for a walk before an earlier dinner. Would it be just the two of us? Or would you bring your partner?
And food-wise, does no sugar include sugar substitutes such as honey?
Is buckwheat ok?
see you soon!
