The Employee by joshua schwebel
About this project

reproduction request for publication

Josh Schwebel <privatejosh@gmail.com> To: Clive Robertson <███████████████>

dear Clive,
We were last in communication a couple years ago about my project The Employee at Forest City Gallery. I hope you have been well!
I am currently in the process of archiving the project outcomes, and am writing to ask your permission to reproduce the emails we exchanged. I would like to include them in the project archive. This material will be published online. I have decided to communicate The Employee through a complete archive (or as complete as possible) of the emails that constitute the project. Because the project reflects on the self-exploitation and burnout of contemporary cultural work, it makes sense, to me, to extend it into the personal realm, since that is where we are harvesting our energy to overwork.
I have attached the exact documents to this email (I intend to redact personal information such as email addresses, mailing addresses, or phone numbers). I do not intend to publish anything other than what is included below.
Please read these emails over and let me know if you would consent to allow me to reproduce them online. I have over 1500 individual emails to include, so they will blend into the crowd :). If you do not consent, or want anything else removed, please let me know as well. I want to respect your wishes. I would greatly appreciate it if I could hear back from you by next week (August 4), and will keep in touch to let you know when the project is published.
warm wishes,
Joshua Schwebel
