Thank you for Forest City Gallery’s submission to the 2021 Lacey Prize. The nominations received were of an exceptionally high quality and spoke to the resilience of the artist-run sector in Canada over the course of these challenging past two years. The jury has now deliberated and the prize will be announced shortly. Forest City Gallery was considered carefully among a competitive field of candidates. I am writing to inform you that the Lacey Prize has been awarded elsewhere this year. I would please not let this decision deter you from future years and do encourage Forest City Gallery to reapply in 2023.

Thank you again for your interest in the continued success of the Lacey Prize as it builds national awareness over the activities and impact of small organizations and artist-run spaces in Canada.

Dear Matthew Kyba,

Thank you for your submission to the 2021 Lacey Prize. I am writing to confirm that the nomination for Forest City Gallery has been received and that we are presently assembling and reviewing all submissions in advance of the jury meeting in early October. The timeline for prize announcement is slated for mid-November. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted prior to the announcement date and be asked to forward recent financial statements to be reviewed against the prize criteria.
