Thank you for submitting an application for funding to the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). We appreciate the time and effort that went into the application, and we understand the commitment you have to the success of your organization’s mission.

OTF receives a very high volume of applications and while there are so many worthy proposals, we are only able to fund a limited number of projects. Unfortunately, we are not able to fund your application which is further outlined further below.

We recognize you will be disappointed with this notification and are aware it is arriving at a challenging and unprecedented time. To help non-profit organizations to find alternative supports, we have gathered a list of many of the government and community resources that are being made available to non-profits.

When we receive an application, we assess the organization and project eligibility based on our policies and the application’s strengths and weaknesses relative to our assessment criteria. A review of your organization’s eligibility, your project’s eligibility, and your application’s weaknesses, if any, are indicated below.

Project Weaknesses

Successful Resilient Communities Fund grant applications demonstrate strength in three assessment areas. Based on our criteria for each of these assessment areas, your project could have:
  • Strategy: more clearly articulated the project and demonstrated that it is reasonable for addressing the noted impacts.
  • Strategy: more clearly demonstrated that the capital components are appropriate to address the noted impacts.
  • Process: more clearly demonstrated that it is feasible to carry out the key project activities in the stated timeline.
  • Process: more clearly demonstrated that the budget is reasonable and aligned to key project activities.

For upcoming grant deadlines, please visit www.otf.ca. The next Resilient Communities Fund deadline is August 4, 2021.
To prepare for an upcoming deadline, applicant support will be available 4-6 weeks prior. To access support:

  • Contact the OTF Support Centre at 1-800-263-2887 or otf@otf.ca, or
  • Book a coaching call with an OTF Program Manager by using our online booking tool or by contacting the OTF Support Centre.

We wish you the very best with the important work you do in your community and urge all organizations to continue to follow Public Health guidelines to keep our communities safe and healthy.

Thank you for applying to the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Sincerely,
