Publication Brief for your review

Lauren Wetmore <████████████████████████████████ > To: Josh Schwebel <privatejosh@gmail.com>

Hi Josh,

Here is the document I would like to send to Anna.

Please let me know any edits or additions. It would be particularly helpful for you to look at the first line where I sum up the project - can this me more clear and also more specific? Also - please take a look at the “archive” section which I would be grateful if you could add more details.

For the sake of clarity of communication I have taken up the title “The Employed” to distinguish the book from the work. This need not be maintained, but in the case of introducing the project, is allows for an ease fo disambiguation.

Thanks for your help! As soon as this is good to go, I will pass it to Anna with an introduction specific to her proposed contribution.

Merci,

Lauren x

Dear Lauren,
Thanks for sending this to me. I am just on my way out to meet someone, but I will give it a more attentive read when I get back tonight.

No problem J!
I’m working through all this today, so you can expect a few things from me.
Have a lovely day,
L

hi Lauren,
thank you so much for putting the brief together as one document.
I have made some suggestions and rewrites to try to be more specific, but it is challenging to be both general and specific at the same time. Feel free to cut out any or all of my suggestions.
Regarding the title, I am not sure if you knew this or not, but I used the same title "the Employed" in the most recent grant application, for the same reason, although I still expect that the publication will be entitled The Employee.
I hope you have a great day, and I look forward to the next steps in communicating with Anna.

Just sent to Anna!!!!!! I really hope she received the invite with curiosity. Fingers crossed.

Yes, I took “The Employed” from that grant application you shared with me. It really does seem the easiest way to distinguish things at this point, but I agree that “The Employee” is the right title for the book.

To wrap up other threads: I agree we can give Marina a week or so before we come back to her. It might even be a good idea to get back to her with my edited version, just to subtly push things forward.

You can sort of get the picture of the WB catalogue tabs here: https://shop.whitney.org/whitney-biennial-2022-quiet-as-it-s-kept.html

I’ll follow up with T on the 800 words shortly.
