Hi Josh,
Hope Berlin is treating you well this Monday evening.
Please find below our meeting notes from November 30; note that we’ve highlighted two questions for you.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
All the best + talk soon,
mark
The Employee
Discussion:
Next steps from last time: Josh to provide re: The Employee (reminder, over email is fine)
H9 access to Google Drive when he’s ready
outline of who the writers are, how many essays there will be, how long the essays will be
Production and design budgets + deadlines so we can orient ourselves
Dimensions: perhaps letter-size, 8.5x11in, to echo office work. Might also consider legal (8.5x14) and/or folded tabloid (11x17)
The Employee will be organized along a chronological timeline of grant funding applications
Each file would have its own tab in the book
Josh wants to also include applications they didn’t send, along with annotations as to why they weren’t applied for
Josh to share spreadsheet with chronological list of grant applications
Josh to revise spreadsheet so that it includes all pertinent dates of the project, not just applications
All of Camille’s notes will also be included
Perhaps a book would be better than a box
There should be a table of contents
Josh has finalized the list of writers
Unsure of how to categorize/put into order rolling deadline grants; maybe screencap the rolling deadline applications that weren’t sent in
How do we make something visually cohesive when all the grant applications look so different?
Greyscale or colour? Documentation of performances to be in colour, but documentation can be in greyscale
Videos:
Josh is still uncertain of how to include the video performances
Flipbook idea still exists
Budgets:
What is the whole budget, including production?
Publisher will be Art Metropole… Just giving the logo and distribution
Next Steps for H9:
Reverse-engineering a timeline and then come up with deadlines (DONE)
Farah and Louis to discuss preliminary ideas
Question for Josh:
Does Jan 3 feel realistic for content to h9?
Deadlines:
Publication: Mid-may 2022 (May 18 launch in Gatineau)
