Re: checking in

Josh Schwebel <privatejosh@gmail.com> To: Marina Vishmidt <████████████████ >

Dear Marina,
My apologies for the delayed reply. I just moved into a new apartment and the disruption was total. It is very good to hear from you, and I hope your health is perhaps slightly improved.
To update you on the project’s status, the performance (writing applications) will continue until mid-October, after which time application results will still be incoming for some months. As of now, we have received only rejections to our applications (or renewable core funding has been extended without increases).
It has been a very depressing outcome thus far.
The publication timeline is still delayed. I am reluctant to produce the publication with application results still pending, but as a colleague also pointed out, should any applications be successful, the project would also extend inconclusively through the duration of their expenditure. So it is hard to set a timeline for the publication as yet. I would hope to have the critical texts by the end of November, if possible, but since the work on the publication is still to begin, this deadline is far from fixed. I know that’s not a concrete answer, but it does open up more time for your contribution.
In the meantime, Art Metropole has confirmed that they will publish the volume, and my funding has extended the deadline for a final report.
My best,
Josh

Dear Josh,

Thanks for the updates, and that is indeed disheartening about the funding application results, as so much effort goes into each one. hope something turns around soon! I suppose this round of rejections can also inform the contributor' overview of the kinds of support system symptoms the project is working to highlight.

But good news about the publisher confirmation, and the extension of both the deadline for the final report and the renewable core funding.

And warm wishes for settling into the new place, it is incredibly disruptive. We'll be moving to Berlin for seven months or so in half a year's time, so will be experiencing that big-time - let me know if you hear of anything (I am not sure if I recall exactly from our last conversation if you've been back in Canada for some time or are still in Berlin, or occasionally in Berlin...).

all the best,

Marina
