hi Mitchell,
I hope that life in Australia is treating you well.
I wanted to send you an update about The Employee, since the project just wrapped up, and I am able to start work on the publication.
I flip-flopped on the idea of doing an interview or conversation with you about the project, but ultimately I think it makes more sense to have you write a text. So, first of all, I hope you are still interested and have the capacity to produce a text of about 5 or 6 pages length on the project. Second, the deadline I am looking at is the end of January.
As a topic, I was hoping you could speak about the project through the theme of support structures and recessional aesthetics, as you thematized in your MFA thesis as a framework through which to emphasize the receding mise-en-abyme of the formal structure / economic reality of the work.
This is my suggestion, but I am also very open to your thoughts.
I would be happy to have a zoom meeting to refresh you on how the project has progressed, and to discuss any questions or ideas you have.
It will also be nice to catch up!
warm greetings from Montreal (until I return to Berlin at the end of the month),
Josh

Hello Josh,

Lovely to hear from you and congratulations on the wrap up. I’d be more than happy to develop a text in response to the project.

I am at the pointy end of semester with final projects and grading, so perhaps we could organise a zoom for November 8 when things have settled a little here and you are back in Berlin?

Looking forward to catching up x

Mitch

hi Mitch,
that is excellent to hear.
Nov. 8 would be great for an online meeting. Around what time Berlin–Melbourne? is a good overlap for this?

Hi Josh,

I think we are 9hrs ahead here.
How about 6pm Sydney time / 9am Berlin?

Sounds good. I will mark it in my calendar, and looking forward to seeing you soon.
